Julep Maven – July 2015

For the longest time, I saw ads for Julep and thought “that seems really expensive for 3 polishes a month” ($24.99 a month), then saw that you could get their welcome kit (changes all the time) for $2.99! I figured, what the heck, and gave it a shot. Well Julep has easily become my favorite nail polish. It goes on easy, smooth, dries quickly and lasts (even on my abused hands). I’ve been receiving boxes for a few months now.

You can customize your box each month (or skip if it’s not in the budget), add add-ons and get free gifts. There is also a “secret” store every month with great deals.

This month I swapped out everything and chose three add-ons (and received a free gift). The add-ons vary in price.

I chose for the box:

Bare Body Milk – Value $24

This lotion smells divine! It’s a very light, liquidy lotion and really helps moisturize summer skin.

From the site:

  • Milk thistle locks in moisture and helps protect against environmental factors.
  • Olive oil delivers essential fatty acids to hydrate and repair.
  • Grapefruit oil promotes cell turnover.
  • Orange peel oil brightens dry, dull skin.

Oxygen Performance Top Coat – Value $18

I love how fast Julep nail polish dries, so I wanted a top coat to match. I chose a standard glossy (they have a matte available I may try next)

Juliana – It Girl Nail Polish – Value $14

I love this color! It is so summery, and I like the shimmer finish

For my add-ons:

Magdalene – Boho Glam Nail Polish – Value $14

I love this vibrant blue, and it shimmers! Reminds me of the ocean and pool and all things summer

Lainey Wonder Maven Nail Polish – Value $14

Are you catching my shimmer theme yet???

Gel Eye Glider – Radiant Amethyst – Value $16

I am loving bold, bright colors right now, so I had to have this purple eye liner. The eye liner is so creamy and goes on smooth. I love pairing this with pink/purple eyeshadow, darkest black mascara and a bit of black eyeliner to really make the colors pop

My free gift for three add-ons was a nail polish

Sydney Bombshell – Creme Nail Polish – Value $14

this color goes right with the rest of the items I chose, very happy with the gift!

Total value of box: $114 and my total invoice was $49.18! A great value for the items I received.

What do you think of Julep? Do you subscribe?
